Psychotherapy in Hanau, near Frankfurt
Therapy sessions in my practice or online

Individual therapy in English and French

You don’t need a diagnosis to begin therapy. You may be going through a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety, exhaustion or painful relationships, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself.

Perhaps you are trying to find your place in a new country, moving between different cultures or carrying experiences that are difficult to explain to people who have never had to question where they belong.

Whatever brings you here, we begin with where you are.

What you can bring to therapy

You are welcome to come to me with many different experiences and concerns, including:

  • anxiety, sadness, exhaustion or emotional overwhelm

  • questions of identity, home and belonging

  • migration and adjusting to life in a new country

  • experiences of discrimination or racism

  • difficult relationships or family dynamics

  • major life transitions and periods of change

  • traumatic or overwhelming experiences

  • recurring patterns that you would like to understand

  • feeling disconnected from yourself or your body

People with an existing diagnosis, such as depression or an adjustment disorder, are also welcome. If your symptoms may have a physical cause, I recommend seeking medical assessment before beginning therapy. I do not prescribe medication.

How I work

You decide the pace and direction of our work. I may offer ideas, questions or exercises, but nothing is forced. You do not have to speak about every experience in detail, and you never need to go further than feels manageable.

All feelings are welcome – sadness, anger, fear and joy, as well as confusion, ambivalence or not knowing what you feel at all.

Sometimes it can be helpful to explore the roots of an experience. At other times, the priority is to strengthen your resources, find stability and develop a greater capacity to stay present with difficult emotions.

Therapy is not only about reducing distress. It can also be about rediscovering joy, aliveness and your own sense of strength.

Body-oriented and trauma-sensitive psychotherapy

Our experiences do not only exist in our thoughts and memories. They can also appear in the body as tension, exhaustion, restlessness, numbness, pain or a constant sense of being on alert.

Body-oriented psychotherapy gently includes these physical responses. This may involve noticing sensations, movements, impulses or changes in your breathing. Creative exercises can also help you explore boundaries, safety and your relationship with yourself and others.

If it feels appropriate and you explicitly consent, therapeutic touch or elements of trauma-sensitive massage may also be included. Touch is never required and can be stopped at any time.

My work is informed by current knowledge from neuroscience, attachment theory and our understanding of the nervous system. I also draw on systemic perspectives, work with inner parts, trauma-sensitive mindfulness and resource-oriented approaches.

You are not the problem in isolation

I do not look at you or your difficulties separately from the world you live in. Our relationships, family histories, cultural backgrounds and social environments all shape us. Transgenerational experiences may play a role, as can discrimination, racism and structural inequality.

Not every difficulty is an individual failure or something that simply needs to be regulated away. Sometimes distress is an understandable response to what has happened to you or to the conditions in which you are expected to function.

Inclusive, discrimination-aware language is an integral part of my work, as is the ongoing reflection on diversity, power, privilege and my own position and blind spots.

Fees and appointments

A 60-minute individual session costs €105.

Psychotherapy provided under the German Heilpraktikergesetz is not covered by statutory health insurance. Some private or supplementary health insurance plans may reimburse part of the cost. Please check directly with your insurance provider.

A reduced solidarity rate of €60 per 60-minute session is available for people with a lower income. You are welcome to ask for this rate without having to justify your financial situation.

I also offer combined sessions of psychotherapy and trauma-sensitive massage lasting 90 minutes. The fee is adjusted according to the length of the session.

We usually begin with an initial appointment in which we get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. Afterwards, you can decide whether you would like regular appointments or individual sessions whenever you feel you need them.
